BASF Coatings in Münster – the world's largest contiguous coatings site

The Coatings division of BASF, headquartered in Münster/Germany, is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, decorative paints as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries.

The BASF site in Münster is the world's largest contiguous coatings site and also the headquarters of BASF's Coatings division.

With around 2,300 employees from more than 30 nations, the company is one of the largest industrial employers in Münster and the region. The factory premises, where automotive OEM paints and automotive refinish coatings are produced, covers an area of 427,000 m2 (approx. 60 football pitches). The portfolio is supplemented by "Beyond Paint Solutions", which aim to develop new markets and business models. This also includes the functional surface film NovaFlex SharkSkin, which is used in the aviation sector and optimizes aerodynamics at flow-relevant parts of the aircraft due to its special structure.
