Sustainable construction in the desert

The construction industry in the United Arab Emirates is in a period of change, moving away from superlatives like higher, faster and bigger and towards a sustainable approach.
BASF offers the construction industry in the Gulf region innovative solutions aimed at constructing buildings that save energy and have a longer useful life.

No CO2, no waste, no cars. A carbon neutral city – to be completed by 2016 – is being built in Abu Dhabi’s desert: Masdar City. The city will rely entirely on renewable energy sources and be home to 50,000 people.
